The average sized town between London and Brighton on the A272

current location: archive - snack window

This is the Beech Hurst Snack window. For years it served teas, coffees, ices and other summer treats. Located next to the restaurant's bay window it was possible when buying a lolly to look in on how the other half lived. The window served all the classic ices but, at 50 pence, the King Cone remained out of reach from all but the most spoilt of children.

Late in its lifetime, the snack window made a controversial move away from Lyons Maid livery to the Walls livery you can see in the picture.
